NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not affiliated with government and is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act decisions.
1. What This Website Is
Davidson County Criminal History is an independent reference, not a government office. It neither stores official criminal records nor performs checks, retrieves files, or submits forms for visitors.
Its role is to identify official Davidson County and North Carolina sources, including the Sheriff's Records Division, the Clerk of Superior Court, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Some pages also link to outside search providers.
2. Rules for Using This Site
By using the site, you agree not to:
- Violate federal, North Carolina, or local law
- Stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass any person
- Use content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
- Attempt unauthorized entry into any system
- Run automated scraping, bot, or harvesting tools
- Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
Information obtained here or from a linked tool may not be used to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. The same ban applies to registry data. North Carolina's G.S. 14-208.10 defines public adult-registry fields, while G.S. 14-208.29 restricts juvenile information. No registry-specific North Carolina public-misuse offense was verified in the project research, so these terms do not claim a special criminal penalty. Harassment, threats, vigilantism, and unlawful conduct remain prohibited.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
Davidson County Criminal History does not create credit files, background reports, or consumer reports and is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. You agree not to rely on this site or a linked tool to:
- Make an employment decision
- Evaluate a rental or housing application
- Set credit or insurance terms
- Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or public benefit
- Carry out any other FCRA-regulated decision
A legally required official check must be obtained through the proper North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation channel or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.
5. No Legal Advice
The content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Davidson County charge, warrant, conviction, or expunction rule applies to a specific person. Consult a licensed North Carolina attorney for advice.
6. No Warranties
All content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:
- Any item is complete, accurate, or current
- The website will remain continuously available
- The pages contain no error, defect, or security weakness
- An outside search provider will return complete or correct results
Charges, dispositions, custody, and expunction status can change. Confirm all material facts with the Davidson County or North Carolina agency that holds the original record.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links can lead to government portals, legal resources, and outside search providers. Those services control their own content, pricing, terms, availability, and data practices. Davidson County Criminal History is not responsible for them.
8. Intellectual Property
Site text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Davidson County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or adapted without prior written permission.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the greatest extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, its content, or a linked service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold the operator harmless from claims, demands, proceedings, and related costs caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms.
11. Governing Law
North Carolina law governs these terms. A dispute connected with website use must be brought in a court located in North Carolina. Chapter 132 governs access to records held by North Carolina public agencies; it does not make this private site's own files government records.
12. Changes to These Terms
The operator may revise these conditions. Updated terms become effective when posted here.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be suspended or blocked at any time, without advance notice and for any reason.
14. Severability
If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
